Joshua Cox

Joshua Cox is President and Chief Financial Advisor at Milestones Wealth. Josh became interested in investing in high school and became a fan of Warren Buffett after reading several of his books. Going out on a limb, Josh sent Buffett a letter and was personally invited to attend the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. While listening to Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger, Bill Gates, and others speak, Josh was inspired to start his career in the financial industry.

After college, Josh moved from his home state of Hawaii to Colorado. He applied for financial analyst and advisor jobs in the area. He accepted an offer from one of the brokers, was trained, studied for and attained all his licenses, and became completely licensed and qualified within three months, one of the quickest turnarounds they had ever seen. Josh started his business in January 2013, and never looked back. The first couple of years were very difficult and frustrating, and Josh was barely able to make ends meet. He knew 90% of advisors fail within the first three years but was determined not to let his family down or the clients who trusted him early on. One of his clients said, “they should put your name as the definition of persistence in the dictionary”.

Josh believes that a solid work ethic, instilled in him as a child (being homeschooled, working in the family construction company and completing his business degree in two years), really helped him stick it out in this industry. Josh’s diligence, candor, professionalism, and integrity are a big reason why his clients trust him.

Most important to Josh is his faith in Jesus. Though he works with clients of all different backgrounds and beliefs, his Christian values and beliefs shape the way he treats people and the diligence he strives to have in serving them. Josh views himself as a steward of his client’s finances, and he takes this role of stewardship very seriously. Josh has a wonderful wife and sons. He is striving to live each day to the fullest.
